A Comedy packed suspense thriller !!!
The movie revolves around four friends Pappu (Jayram), Rex(Kunchako Boban), Idikkula(Biju Menon) and Munna(Manoj K Jayan) who decides to get back to their studies, after a gap of 12 years. The four had to discontinue their college life following a murder that happened amidst a college festival and Pappu was then sentenced to jail for a term of twelve years.Now back from Jail, Pappu wants to start everything from where they have missed it and the other three supports him by giving a break to their jobs and joining in the same college for M A philosophy.There starts the celebrations and they were enjoying and tasting everything they left behind years ago.But, little did they know that it was also the unraveling of something that laid mysteriously beneath, for long... Director Vysakh has done a neat job wearing the captain's hat in presenting the comedy – thriller in an interesting and convincing manner. His control over the script in narrating the scenes with simple dialogues starting from comedy to the suspenseful thriller in the end is flawless. Screenplay by Sachi-Sethu maintains the momentum of the movie engrossing the audience glued to their seats. Cinematography by Shaji and editing by Mahesh Narayanan proves quality work contributing to the feel and flow of the movie throughout. Jassie Gift and Alphonse have scored some melodious numbers and Gopi Sundar with his background score is impressive on comedy oriented scenes and thrilling scenes maintaining the chill. On the whole, 'Seniors' is sure to score big for its skillful performances by all the characters with a superb execution. This is an entertainer that has something for everyone, a complete entertainer.
The Funny, Flirty yet Friendly Seniors :)
Seniors is a fun movie all through, although I must say it's really not a family entertainment. There are a number of suggestive dialogues that are adult in nature. Jayaram, Manoj K Jayan, Biju Menon and Kunchako Boban deliver to their potential and makes the movie viewable. Jayaram & Biju Menon especially stand out with their comedy, with ample support from the hilarious Suraaj Venjaramoodu. Pretty Ananya and Padmapriya are the female leads here who both impress in their roles. Meera Nandan makes a nice guest appearance in few scenes. Direction and music is good. And the cinematography too is just fine. The movie is a good mix of comedy and suspense. The ending is bit controversial. The killer who's finally identified in the climax is not punished for his offense and allowed to go scot-free. It was unconvincing to me. And there are some scenes which unnecessarily dragged like the time when our male leads in a drunken stupor kidnap the wrong person from the ladies hostel. There was too much talking which became a bit boring. Or the volleyball game on the public road which didn't engage much. Verdict: Fun and lively flick thanks to our 4 senior actors :)
